Glen Beck on CNN????

Mon Jul 21, 2008 at 09:56:29 PM PDT

What the hell?  Glen Beck on Larry King live??  Perhaps the most insane justification of that idiot Republican senator John McCain that I have ever seen?  Is there some point at which CNN will ever admit that they are biased?  Why not just put Rush Limbaugh in as an anchor?

Keiths Mustache Story

Fri May 23, 2008 at 05:50:21 PM PDT

Did I hear this right?  Keith just told a story about Bush taking down paintings in the White House somewhere that portrayed American Diplomacy at work and replacing them with photos of the Major Players in the Bush Administration. Cheney, Rumsfield et al.  After hanging for a while(and I'm sure not accomplishing anything, as usual for the Bushies)someone drew a mustache or mustaches on some of the photos.  How fucking fantastic is that?

If anyone has any other info, please post.  I actually find this so hard to believe that I have to ask.  I see this as a major ad campaign for MoveOn.org, imagine Bush, McBush all with Magic Markered Mustaches?

Once we win, then what?

Fri May 16, 2008 at 10:50:00 AM PDT

It seems like the Dems have this election in the bag.  The overt corruption of this administration has soured even the most ardent conservatives, all except the ballwashers Limbaugh and Hannity, or so it would seem.  That will leave the Dems in a position to change things, but my fear is that it will result in more of the same bullshit, primarily because of the fact that they know who butters their bread.

You can see it everywhere.  If Politicians like Rockerfeller are willing to stick their necks our for FISA just to keep in the good graces of the Telecom industry, what chance do we have of fighting the Healthcare, pharma, oil and all the rest that are willing to rape our country and its citizens for profit?

Even if the scenario is such that we win a good majority and Obama gets elected, what are our chances?  Not good, I believe.

Exxon-Mobil 17% rise in profits. Obscene!!!

Thu May 01, 2008 at 04:14:47 PM PDT

Can you imagine?  They just posted the 2nd highest profit margin for a corporation in HISTORY!!!  What is wrong with this country?  Why don't we just hand all of our money over to the corporations and get it over with?

That's 17% for the first quarter of this year, in a time when everyone is suffering.  When the middle class is trying to hold on to their houses, when soldiers are dying in Iraq for the sake of the oil companies, and when our President still says the war was not about oil.

Stephen Colbert, I'll take your portrait.

Mon Jan 14, 2008 at 09:12:23 PM PDT

Yes Stephen, I would take your portrait over Dorothy's slippers any day.

Dorothy may have gone to see the wizard, but you have let us see the truth.

Dorothy may have walked the yellow brick road, but you have taken the path never trodden, the path of irony.

Dorothy may have clicked her heels twice, but you have put the heels on top of the lies and "truthiness" of the politicos that have lied to us for years....

MarKos, give us an Endorsment!!!

Mon Jan 07, 2008 at 02:54:37 PM PDT

We know how you feel about our candidates:

But I must entreat you to put your considerable mojo behind one of them. (Edwards, that is).  Is it that you dont want to be proven wrong? (We will forgive you!)  Is it that you secretly have a crush on Hillary?  (We could never forgive you!)  Is it that you really want to remain impartial? (God forgive us!)

Call the White House

Mon Jul 02, 2007 at 09:53:58 PM PDT

Please, write the White House, they cant get away with this.

Stupid ****ing question Matthews

Fri May 04, 2007 at 03:42:58 PM PDT

After all the shit that Bush has put us through, Matthews dares to ask if we would be better off with Bill Clinton back in the White House once again!!!

Let me tell you Chris, I would love to have Bill back in the White House.  In fact, I think we should hire ladies to give him Blow Jobs in the Oval office at taxpayers expense if only we could bring America back to the days before Bush!!!

The Morality of Greed

Wed Feb 07, 2007 at 09:33:50 AM PDT

So the Reverend Haggard is cured!  One sin he does not want to be guilty of is Homosexuality.  But it always amazes me how the fundies ignore the sins they own, like greed.  Remember that old saying "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven?"  I’ve been thinking about greed in America.  Not just greed, but GREED.

That Exxon guy taking the 400 million parachute.  The way Wal-Mart is raping the country, putting all the mom-and-pop businesses out of business.  I think the Wal-Marts, the Home Depots and all the big mega marts are responsible for the biggest transfer of wealth in this countries history.  And I think it’s a sin.

My religion

Sat Dec 16, 2006 at 07:09:23 PM PDT

This is going to be my first diary for Street Prophets, I suppose it’s ok to post it here too.

I’m not a religious person, but I am spiritual.  The spiritual kind of person that denies any organized religion because I believe it is all essentially a lie that we tell ourselves, a construct we use to get our minds around ideas that we can not actually digest.  There is that incredible universe out there that points to some absolute, something much bigger than our little world here, but when we try to define this thing as "God" we fuck the whole thing up completely.

My Sense of Impending Doom-Help!

Thu Dec 14, 2006 at 10:11:28 AM PDT

I was at dinner last night with 3 friends and one of them told us he was seriously interested in going out and buying a gun for protection.  Another person at the table told us he had already done so, indeed, he keeps a knapsack with survival equipment in both cars, just in case "The shit hits the fan".  The third person agreed with the premise, but didn’t say he planned to go out and buy a gun.  I actually just bought a gun about 4 months ago.  The only other person having similar sentiments is a woman I know who said she is buying a gun in case of another 9/11 type disaster.

Olbermans gonna get arrested and tortured...

Mon Sep 18, 2006 at 06:06:49 PM PDT

Damn, ya gotta give it to this guy, he did it again.
Day after day he's speaking truth to these idiots.  Tonight he asked for apologies from the preznit for the tantrum he had on Friday, as well as leading us into the damn war to begin with.  Along with exposing that they all seem to be worried about is being held accountable, which seems to be the motivation behind changing the torture law to begin with.

The Boy, The Stripper, The President

Wed Apr 26, 2006 at 08:52:46 AM PDT

Well, we have a President who is a dismal failure.  Gas prices are off the chart.  Iraq is a mess of unique proportions.  There's the question of Iran and nuclear proliferation.  There's Darfour.  There's North Korea.  There's the "Immigration Problem."  Global Warming.  Economy.  Israel/Palestine.  China.
I can go on and on with important problems that the world is facing.  And don't get me wrong, Anderson Cooper does give time to these important problems.  As do the other networks.  But what the fuck is this fascination with this white boy who raped the stripper?  Why are we listening to this constant drivel about an 18 year old who may or may not have committed a sex crime?  The entire country is possessed by this story, why?

Lets stop calling this a "War on Terror."

Tue Dec 20, 2005 at 10:45:35 AM PDT

We must stop using the term "War on Terror."
It is no more a war than the "War on Drugs" is a war.  Terrorists do not constitute a nation that we can be at war with.  Bin Laden needs to be seen for what he was, more of a head of an organized crime syndicate than the leader of a nation.

Boy I'm sick of all their bullshit.

Tue Jun 28, 2005 at 08:33:37 PM PDT

This God-Damn propaganda machine is churning out BS so effectively, and it seems like nobody except the people on this blog can see it.  Bush, in this pathetic speech, is desperately trying to make all the insurgents into the ones who attacked us on September 11th.  He hammered it home tonight so many times that you can just hear all those morons in the red states agreeing with him.

CNN covers blogs, let's cover them

Mon Apr 11, 2005 at 07:51:57 PM PDT

My favorite thing on CNN is when they look at what's happening on the Blogosphere.  It's about the only time you get any real news, although they do tend to skip a lot of the more important stuff.  Today I was thinking that what's really happening is that we're doing their work for them, and it's a sad reflection on the corporate media whores.

CNN's little peek at the Blogosphere can be turned around on them.  What if the blogs do what they do in reverse, and report on what the media is reporting on.  For example, if we examined the coverage that CNN provided last week, I imagine it would look like this:

God does not exist

Sat Apr 02, 2005 at 08:13:55 PM PDT

After all this Schiavo/Pope stuff, I got a lot of flak about some of my comments.  I think a diary is in order...
There is no God.
For the life of me, I don't know why I should be on the defensive when I make that statement.  God is just so taken for granted that I can expect an immediate barrage of comments that never cease to infuriate me.  But Why?
Shouldn't it be incumbent on you believers to prove his existence?

Schindlers want this, not Terri

Wed Mar 30, 2005 at 09:04:00 AM PDT

I want to remark on one simple aspect of the Schiavo case.  Who, in their right mind, having been confined to a bed for 15 years, unable to move, talk, eat, or go to the bathroom, would want to remain in the same condition for another 30-40 years?  Look at it from Terri's perspective.  Why do the fundies just assume that this woman would choose to continue to live?

For 15 years she has been crunched up like a discarded candy wrapper.  The family states she wants to go on like this.  Do they think it's a joy for Terri to wait in that Hospital bed all week just to get a half hour visit from her greasy family?  It must be great to sit there in anticipation of getting all the news from them.  How Bobby went sailing and mom went to the mall and dad stubbed his toe on the refrigerator.  I'm sure Terri just loves it, the entertainment factor must be priceless.
